But then again, my ears decoding some peoples code is also as good as useless and most bug code just confuses me as the dits often sound like machine gun fire.
If all you use it for is a little confirmation during contests its great, if you want a little backup when chatting to your mates its again great, but if you think its going to decode Old Mate with his Cootie key or Bug with 100wpm dits and 5wpm dahs then its as good as useless. Again it all depends on what you want to get out of it. So its just about perfect on 30m and up where atmospheric noise and static crashes are less of a problem, its pretty good on 40m and down if the signals are strong. The decoder in HRD is good as long as the SNR is reasonable.
